How Much Does Training Cost?

The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies sets the standard for the massage therapy profession. People who want to become a massage therapist need to take a six-month course (full-time) or 12 months (part-time). Shorter courses are regarded are introductory courses and not suitable for actual massage therapy professional practice.  The amount you pay for your school will depend on the training you go after.   • Building damage (if leasing)
  • Compensation insurance
  • Worker’s compensation
  • Commercial auto insurance

Equipment & Location

The kind of equipment you need is going to depend on where you’re working – from home or at a studio. You’ll need an array of equipment such as aromatherapy supplies, office supplies, masks, gloves, cushions, candles, stools, pillows, carts, hot/cold stone supplies, extra massage tables and chairs, etc.  You could spend between £1,000 and £5,000 in your equipment.
